Yoga is a physical, mental and religious practice originated in India. The word Yoga is a Sanskrit word and it comes from the root word Yuja which basically means to bind. The Lord Shiva is considered the father of ancient yoga. In the 1920s and 30s, Hatha Yoga was strongly promoted in India by the work of Swami SivanandaT. Krishnamacharya and other yogis practicing Hatha Yoga.

This year Yoga Divas will be celebrated by PM Narendra Modi at Rachi in the Prabhat Tara ground and over 30 thousand people are expected to participate in Yoga Divas 2019.
